I WON a competition for this organised by the Japanese Tourist Board. I quite like the format of the haiku, the short pithy message seems to be coming back…attention spans being so short
Miso misses
Sake shimmers, green
Wasabi heat, bento neat
Bonito glimmers
The soy boy splashes
Black, salty umami spots
White rice, green pickles
Sashimi cuts, sushi rolls
Painted chopsticks, laquered bowls
Tuna on hot coals
Miso miss bows down
That is one thousand yens, thank
you so very much
